Mike Samson was born in 1959 at home in Ramsgate.
Educated at St. George's C of E Boys School in Church Road, Ramsgate.
Went to the Ramsgate Art School in Chapel Place, Ramsgate, before joining the Army in 1974.
The Army was then home for 12 years until returning to Ramsgate in 1986.
Whilst on service in Germany and Northern Ireland I was fortunate to spent some time painting with Sir Ken Howard RA while in Ireland.
Shortly after returning to my home town I was reunited with a former Headmaster - Mr Ralph Martin. Ralph was now also running a small Art Group in the village of Acol. After much persuasion from Ralph I joined the Acol Art Group. So the group then had ten members! It now has over fifty!
