Lovelys Annex Gallery presents Infinite Horizon by Harriet Peachey. Harriet is a British artist currently documenting the coastline of Great Britain. She has been fascinated by remote coastlines and vast seas since studying fine art in Kent.
Photographing a specific location is the starting point as are the drawings which are often composed whilst on location. She then incorporates these images with maps, tide timetables and layers of painterly texture within her work and begins to address the relationship of when the land meets the sea.
The horizon line is a fundamental element in Harriet's work. During the image making process the line is situated at an apparent height so when the images are placed together, there is a panoramic link which evidently becomes an Infinite Horizon.
Harriet's journey started in Whitstable, and she has continued onto Margate, Deal and Dungeness. She is currently collaborating images of Rye and Hastings.
