Having Studied painting at Leeds College in Art in the 1960's,
in the last decade Rosemary Abrahams, a native of Yorkshire,
England, has returned to her first love, painting on canvas.
Her career as a painter has for many years run parallel to
her other occupation, that of leading a Design Consultancy
with an international client list. Rosemary has traveled extensively
and this has widened her visual vocabulary, however it's a
love of landscapes that currently inspires her. She employs
a degree of abstraction in her exploration of landscapes,
and this enables her to capture the quality of light that
is such a distinctive feature of her work. She brings this
same degree of sensitivity to her painting of still life,
and more intimate scale subjects. Acrylic paint on canvas,
prepared with a surface of gesso allows Rosemary the freedom
to create rich textured surface effects and to use a range
of paint applications from rich deep hues to the subtlest
of washes. Rosemary exhibits widely in the UK and Europe,
and her work is collected worldwide.
